"Free aviation program at HCI
We are pleased to inform you and your team that we have recently concluded an agreement with Hwa Chong Institution (HCI) on having Joint Free Flying Workshops to be hosted @ HCI for the following target groups :-
1) Interested secondary schools’ students who had undertaken Aero Science Workshops (Basic Level)
2) Students from less privileged or troubled background or profile
These free sessions are meant to be on-going at Hwa Chong, free-of-charge, subject to schedule and facility availability.
The main objectives are :-
1) To promote awareness and interest in Science applications in aircraft technology and flying
2) To nurture students’ character / teamwork / leadership
3) To promote community service spirit among students via their voluntary mentoring of the less fortunate in flying
4) To foster camaraderie among students from different schools who share common interest in flying and the wonderment of Science in flight
Mode of conduct would be along the line of Archery/Fencing/ Wushu training, via simulated flight and dogfighting training, on hyper-real platforms, and in accordance with real world military doctrine."

UNDERWATER ROBOTIC OLYMPIAD 2010
To cultivate the secondary school students’ interest in underwater robotics and to impart them the basic knowhow in underwater robotics, the Republic Polytechnic School of Engineering, supported by Singapore Science Centre is organising the competition -Underwater Robotic Olympiad 2010 – for the second year running. This one day event will allow students to learn the basics of underwater robotics, design and build their own underwater robots to swim and race at our Republic Polytechnic’s swimming pool. Participants will receive certificates, and stand to win cash prizes and trophies. Follow up workshops after the competition event will also be available for participants who wish to deepen their knowhow in underwater robotics.
Date: 26th May 2010, Wednesday
Time: 8.30 am – 6.30 pm

We used to be dhs item, and currently have a club strength of about 30 members.
